Bob and I at the Guild Awards 2022
I was privileged to work with an amazing group of hugely talented and generous artists during my years on the Fine Art Committee of the Guild.  Working alongside the dynamic staff at the Guild, we were able to offer opportunities for artists to exhibit and promote their artwork, to network and to learn more about the art industry.  Because of the wide range of experience of the committee members, the Fine Art Committee was well placed to give advice to artists looking for guidance at different stages of their careers.  Fun and happy times.  It is all these creative friends I miss the most...

Happy times...but we want to spend more time travelling now!

June 2022 (above):  Back in the studio following our cruise with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, in my role as art instructor.  Photos from the northern most town in the world, in the Arctic Circle. Luckily this is the closest we got to polar bears!  (Background photo credit: https://www.instagram.com/frede_lamo/)
Some interesting facts: It is illegal to leave the town without a firearm (because of polar bears!). There are more polar bears than people in Svalbard. It is illegal to pick flowers.
May 2022 (above): Back home from an amazing cruise to the Azores and Iceland on Borealis with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines; teaching art workshops and whale watching with ORCA on board! The ORCA team kindly supplied the artists in the art workshops with photos (to use as reference) from sightings on their trips, including on this cruise. They also came along to the workshops to see the artwork in progress and talk to us all about whales and dolphins. On the last full day at sea we held an art exhibition that showcased the incredible art that had been produced during our cruise. It was a fun art journey for all!
Thanks to ORCA for sharing their expert knowledge with us all.

2013 (above): I was honoured to be asked by BBC Radio Merseyside and The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre to manage a project which included my teaching art workshops and then using the artwork, to design a wall frieze for the UK's first mobile treatment centre.  The project lasted a few months and it was lovely to teach and support the workshop attendees, who produced wonderful artwork of Liverpool and surrounding areas.  When we all reunited for the official opening of the mobile unit, I was stunned and honoured to find a plaque detailing my involvement in the project.  This was a project that meant a lot to me, partly because my late father was born in Liverpool.  Although we travelled abroad during my upbringing, it always touches my heart to visit this wonderful city.
